Become a Swim Official! (And Time to Recertify)
Hi, Whetstone Whales Parents!
Have you ever wondered what those adults in white shirts are doing at the ends of the pool during our swim meets? Why not join us and find out!!
This is an open invitation to parents to become certified as a Whetstone Whales swim official! No experience is necessary. The certification process is easy, mentored, and free!
Swim meet officials include stroke & turn judges, starters, and referees. Please see the attached flyer to learn more about each position. Officials are essential to ensuring fair and equitable competition for all swimmers. We are always in need of new stroke and turn judges to help cover all of our A and B meets and relay carnivals..
The first step of certification is to attend one of the MSCL training clinics, which are offered online and in-person. Here are the dates available for first-time S&T certification:Sun, Jun 1, 8 a.m. (in-person)
Thu, Jun 5, 7 p.m. (online)
Sun, Jun 8, 8 a.m. (in-person)
Wed, Jun 11, 7 p.m.(online)
Go to https://mcsl.org/officials/ to register and see additional dates
Also, welcome back to returning swim officials! Thank you for your continued service to our team! This is a reminder that if you were certified in or before 2023, you'll need to recertify. Simply register for one of the training clinics that is oriented to recertifying your position. We also welcome those wishing to advance their certification from S&T to starter and then to referee. Please see the attached flyer or go to https://mcsl.org/officials/ for dates of S&T recertification, starter training, or referee training.
Any questions? Contact me via the Whetstone Whales email (WhetstoneWhales @ gmail.com) or directly at Lperine @ gmail.com (remove spaces).
Thank you and hope to see you on deck!
